One messy update

Found the speakers in a trash can, I've been meaning to make them into something - there's a lot of potential just haven't found out what to do.

Wednesday/Thursday and today have been madly inspiring. First of all I've realized that I got way more energy than before (post-operation). Head ache seems to be almost gone now, it's pretty scary how much stuff you take for granted. I realized that I haven't been popping pain killers the couple of days, which is a really big thing. Still scares me what is/was the cause of the head ache, but hopefully it's nothing.
Secondly I had those talks Wednesday which was a really good thing. Yesterday I did a landscape painting which took all day: (there's a pretty bad glare on the photo)Today I've gotten my tattoo finished and I went to KE10 art exhibition at Carlsberg. I also made some drawings on paper (the photo quality is due to the built-in camera in my computer)

Been working on some stuff I left when I went to the Dominican Republic. I've been simplifying and painting everything in oil instead of acrylics. I think they work way better this way, but it was a tough kill-your-darlings project to do. They're still not finished, but I'm getting there.

1ST EXHIBITION

Had my first exhibition last saturday!
It's curated by Belaj Kru, and it's at KPH: PROJECTS.
I didn't take any photos of the opening but they exist some where out there. It turned into a very fashionable party with drum&bass dj's and that sorts. The paintings will stay put for a month - they're hanging in a room used for parties and conferences (the not-so-boring artsy culture activism, project design and ngo things). .. The benches are not meant to be there btw - They were cleaning up for something that was to take place in the evening.

Lesson #224:
The pig to the left has some chips because it kept falling down. My own fault, I had used the backside as a mixing palette, and I hadn't used enough glue. Yappediyap.

First post from art school.

Can't find my camera charger so here's what I've been working on recently as seen through the tiny lens of my computer.

Most of my time have not been spent painting but in a Kafkaesque entanglement trying to figure out the danish social security system. Still have no idea how it works, or how to get to that pot of gold. Which turns out not to be made of gold at all. If I manage to get things the way they should be, I still won't be able to pay my rent. I have no idea what to do, most of all I feel like emigrating to Canada. Blah. If I can't work it out it'll mean that I have to drop out from school to have the time to work. I got surprised at how little energy I have now that I'm back in reality from my travels. Most days my energy drops around 5pm and I either fall asleep or, uhm, fall asleep.

More paintings (#6 #7 #8)

The three of these are not really finished, but uploading them seemed to be the right thing to do since blog activity has been on a low recently. I will upload again when they're done.

Two weeks ago I had surgery again. The skull plate had become infected and it had to be removed. I've been living three months missing a rectangular piece of skull. Then 2 weeks ago I had surgery again and I had a piece of plastic inserted instead of the skull plate. Swiss plastic. Hopefully it's not going to get infected again and hopefully I can go travelling soon. I've bought a flight ticket for the Dominican Republic leaving in 11 days, I'm going kite surfing. I will have 6 weeks of vacation and I'll try to keep the blog alive documenting my kite skill progress. Definitely looking forward.

It looks crazy as. Giving me a bit more of a edgy look hey. Anyway I'm just happy that it is (hopefully) over for now. And happy that there's free healthcare. And that I'm still alive. Was I born in any 3rd world country I would have been fucked. Had I been born in the US I would be in debt for the rest of my life. A (rather cool) scar means nothing.

Here's a list of things I need to get done before departure. I like making lists.
-Get stitches removed at doctors tomorrow.
-Buy travel bag for kites and boards.
-Buy one way ticket home again on the 15/07 (from where?)
-Library.
-Buy ticket from DR to (where? Vancouver?) on the 01/07
-Visa for DR?
-Find lost mobile phone
-Make appointment at ink place. Tractor. Fuck yeah.
-Clean apartment.
-Book hostel? Nah.
-Tom Morley myspace project. Put in tons of effin effort. Post here.
-Finish 3 paintings ? Nah , on hold.
-Check kites, buy repair kit +extra lines.
-Write down adresses. Some where proper this time.
-Pay travel insurance!
-Malaria in DR?
-New music on Ipod.
-See people.
-Buy cheap earbuds.
-money stuff.
-Doctors apointment the 29th
-Locate passport

The five paintings have nothing to do with each other and I guess they are meant as a kind of practice rather than actual paintings. My plan is to get better at putting the different elements together and let them work as a scene rather than just.. A chainsaw hovering in front of a car for example. I have a pretty clear vision of how I want the paintings to look and I have a pretty good idea of the world I want to paint and how to depict it. All left now is putting thousands of hours into it :-)
